Ms. Morrison owns AMorrison Consulting, LLC which was founded in January 2020 as a woman-owned, sole owner LLC. AMorrison Consulting was created to formalize Ms. Morrison’s “side gig,” which she started doing as a Military Spouse in 2005. AMorrison Consulting currently provides nonprofit consulting and trains boards and organizations across the United States with services including fundraising, grant writing, board training sessions and retreats, and nonprofit creation. She has vast experience in navigating the local, state, and federal government grant process. Her background as nonprofit management consultant, including development, is extensive. Previous staff positions include National Philharmonic, Augusta Symphony Orchestra, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Arthritis Foundation. She regularly serves as a grant review panelist for community foundations as well as local and state arts agencies and wrote a comprehensive curriculum for Non-Profit Management certificate programs, serving as adjunct faculty at the University of South Florida and Cochise College (AZ). She has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University; certifications include non-profit management, fundraising management of non-profit organizations (University of Texas at Austin), and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace (University of South Florida). She is also a member of the Capital Speakers Club in Washington DC.
With over 23 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit consulting, Elizabeth Murphy is a tireless advocate for the power of philanthropy. She works with nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, and board members to develop the tools, resources, and skills they need to raise more money and realize their vision. Her areas of expertise includes annual giving, major gifts, event planning, grant writing, board development, interim management, recruitment and hiring, and strategic planning for organizations. She is a catalyst for change within organizations that strive to become stronger, more efficient, and focused on delivering their mission. In her career, Ms. Murphy has led the Fairfax Choral Society and the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, as well as Leadership Fairfax, a county-wide leadership training program. As the founding Executive Director of Educate Fairfax, she grew the organization to over $1,000,000 in donations within three years and established a strong and vibrant donor base. She has created and launched programs of all kinds, from large galas, to multiple leadership training programs, a grants program for teachers, and alumni recognition events. She is especially skilled at relationship building and fostering agreement with all stake-holders on the organizational direction. Ms. Murphy works with nonprofits on all aspects of day-to-day functions. A skilled fundraiser, she can assist with grant writing, event planning, and long-term donor campaigns. She will work with the board on executive searches, strategic planning, governance, or board training. She also mentors and guides new executive directors to ensure best practices and capacity-building.
